strengthen your core muscles

I've had back surgery and that gave me back my life, but I still felt "unstable" now and then, like my back was about to "go out" again. I started doing Pilates to strengthen my core muscles to protect my back and the results are amazing, when I stick to it. When I stopped Pilates for 6 months, I started having problems again. So I guess I'll just have to be more disciplined. But when I am, I can do all the normal things in my life, like skiing and kayaking.
