FootThe foot is made up of more than 100 tendons, muscles, ligaments, 26 bones and 33 joints.
Not everyone has foot problems, but it does occur from time to time. A few problems with feet that one may come across include:
Athletes foot Is a type of infection on the skin of your foot, it is caused by fungus and is possible that it could lead to further and more complicated infection. It is contagious and it can be treated with cream.
Plantar warts These are normal warts that will grow on the sole of your foot and can also be treated with certain creams.
Bunions This is when you grow large bumps on your feet. These bumps will be hard and very painful but can be treated.
Calluses This is the same kind of calluses that you can get in the palm of your hand at the joints leading up to the fingers. It is when your skin becomes thick and hard and stands out.
The cause is normally friction or too much pressure
Hammer toes Is when your toes curl downward and there is really nothing you can do. Almost like a spasm but it normally is not painful and can be treated.
Fallen archesThis is just when the bottom of your foot experiences a loss of arch and becomes rather flat. It is also known as flat foot and can be treated.
These are just a few problems that may be experienced but you can also suffer from other problems if you wear tight shoes the whole day and do a lot of walking or if you don’t wear shoes very often, you feet tend to become hard and rough which can also lead to corns or calluses.
General foot care is very important, you do not have to go to a massage parlor everyday for a foot massage but at least goes once a month. You can even just soak your feet in hot water every night before you go to bed and give them a rub, they deserve it! Have someone give you a massage from time to time, this will really make a difference and reduce foot pain.
After you have experienced ankle injuries your foot might be sensitive, this is when you do have to massage it every now and then. You can even massage it yourself, but it is always better when you lay back, relax and let someone else do it for you!
