Alternative treatment for herpes helps to cure herpes more effectively than traditional ways of treating herpes.  Herpes alternative treatment minimizes the number and severity of herpes outbreaks.



In fact, preventive action is preferable to the curative one in case of herpes. Some specific nutrients can assist in the prevention of herpes outbreaks. One such nutrient is beta-carotene that helps in strengthening the immune system. It is also known to retard the activities of the virus.



Vitamin C and zinc are boosters for the immune system and thus, are helpful in preventing an attack of herpes. Vitamin E has been proven as an effective pain reliever and is known to reduce the duration of an attack.

One research is the probable treatment of herpes with the Lactobacillus acidophilus. This is currently being tested for its effectiveness and is showing positive results. Lactobacillus acidophilus, the living culture present in yoghurt, is reported to help alleviate the symptoms of a herpes outbreak. It also has preventive quality against further outbreaks.



The Lactobacillus acidophilus culture is available in tablet form in health stores for oral consumption. It needs to be stored under refrigerated conditions.

Some of the researchers are presently working on red marine algae as a possible alternative treatment for herpes. Known as Dumontiaceae, this alga seems to have a great potential as a possible cure.



It is being increasingly used as a topical and is thought to be superior to other anti-viral drugs presently available in the market. Dumontiaceae has shown strong results as an effective treatment for herpes zoster cases. Some herpes medicines, made up of organic compounds, are presently being used to treat cold-sores-in-mouth herpes, genital herpes, oral herpes, canker sores and fever blisters.

The lemon balm or commonly known bee balm, which is a sulphate-based solution with copper as a trace element is also being used in Alternative treatment for herpes. This cure has also shown good results in many cases of herpes outbreak. The herb Lemon Balm combined with ammoniated acid in deionised water helps to cure herpes. This herb has an acid component with a sulphur molecule attached to it and both these constituents are known to fight herpes. The combined effect causes this medicine to break in through the membrane of the herpes virus and thus, destroys the virus on contact.

These are some of the alternate treatments for herpes being practiced presently and have proven to be quite effective as a cure for the herpes virus in general.
