Health advice on hot flashes
I have had a total hysterectomy in the past and I am not on hormone pills right now. I can't afford a Dr. visit and I would love to stop having hot flashes and night sweats so often, Any suggestions?

I would concur on he remifin, 800 iu vit e per day, perhaps increase soy foods.Given the severity and frequency I would bite the bullet and find a practitioner to work with as this challenge is not just a health food store, just take this. Acupuncture , homeopathy, nutrition, herbs, exercise, hormones all have their place

An over-the-counter herbal blend, such as Remifemin may be helpful. Also, if you have an herbal sage (salvia) plant, you can soak the fresh leaves in pure/filtered water overnight, and drink a few cups of water daily as the tea. Often this can reduce the frequency and severity of hot flashes. Dr. Karen Benton, NDwww.countrydoc.com
