Hysteria advice and remedies

Hysteria is typically defined as a state of mind, one of excess fear or emotionality. It usually involves some body part of the patient, which the patient imagines something is wrong with. The imagined "disease" or problematic body part loom so large for a patient of hysteria, that beyond a point, they become real to him or her.

This causes them to centre their existence around the “problem”, thus making them overly emotional and reactive about it. There are various types of hysteria that have been segregated by psychiatrists today. In order to determine the kind of hysteria you are talking about, you would need a medical diagnosis.

To answer the question of heredity, there is no scientific evidence to prove that hysteria is passed down via heredity. It is often recognized as a learned behaviour, as opposed to a genetically inherited trait. However, in many cases, children have a tendency to pick up behavioural cues from their parents at very early ages. Translated into adult behaviour, these may show up as "inherited" traits, while they may actually not be. If a person is under medication for hysteria, it is wiser to seek medical advice before conceiving. Most of the time, strong medication of any kind is prohibited during pregnancy to check the possibility of any adverse effect on the unborn child.
