Home Remedies for Shingles

When you are suffering from Shingles you experience sharp on your body. What sets this pain apart from the pain that you experience from a normal rash is the fact that this pain is concentrated along the route that one particular nerve takes along your body. After you have the burning pain you notice that red blisters have risen along the area. In a few days these bumps blister. They also turn cloudy.  Shingles is a viral infection of the nerve.

Shingles usually affects people who have previously suffered from chicken pox. Doctors believe that the virus that caused the attack of chicken pox continues to live on in the body of the patient. It is this virus that causes an attack of shingles.
When you have shingles you will suffer from a burning pain. You can soothe the pain by sinking into a bath full of water. What can make this a soothing bath is the addition of cornstarch to the water. Lying in the water for up to twenty minutes can give you relief. If is a good idea to take this before you go to bed.

You can make a paste of powdered aspirin and two tablespoons of alcohol and apply this on the affected areas.  The application of a mixture of Aloe Vera juice with a tablespoon of honey and some drops of leek juice is also generally soothing. You can use a cold compress to seek relief. Dip a soft cloth in cold water and apply on the affected area.
