Backache health advice

Because of the kind of the lifestyle that most people lead today, backaches are almost as common as a cold. Factors such as a sedentary lifestyle, bad working patterns, stress, and bad posture play a very important role in causing backaches. In addition, if you are overweight, you might feel an extra strain on your back if you need to carry anything heavy. The pain is usually occurs in the middle or lower back and may spread to your hips.

Amongst the first things that you must do in terms of a long term solution for your backaches is to increase your fitness level. If you are overweight or tend to sit in one place for a long, ensure that you set up a regular exercise regimen and follow it. You should also try and be active for 45 minutes in every 3 hours. Use a cold compress to relieve the pain – lie on your stomach and have someone massage the aching parts with some ice wrapped in a towel. You should also use garlic to cure your backaches. Eat two or three cloves of garlic every morning. You can also rub a oil made from frying 10 cloves of garlic in 60 ml of oil on your back to provide some relief. Apply the oil vigorously on your back, and allow it to seep into your back for at least three hours. You can then have a hot bath. Continue this for at least a fortnight. If you find that you cannot move from bed, or if the pain is accompanied by a loss of bladder or bowel control, seek medical attention at once.
