Jock itch advice Jock itch is the name by which a fungal infection, caused by a fungus called Trichophyton rubrum, is better known. This fungus attacks the damp, moist area of the groin. The infection is aggravated by chafing and rubbing. Sometimes a certain laxity with hygiene in these areas is also responsible for the fungus attacking. What you need to do is to change your underclothes are often as possible. Try taking a hot water bath or shower after you get home from work or the gym. Drying yourself well is the key to avoiding future infections. However, if you are not certain about drying yourself well, then you can use a hair dryer to do this work for you. Dress in loose clothes made of natural fibers.
